I would like to comment on why some of us didn't go to S.Buffalo, at least myself because I think a lot of people have the wrong idea. I have been signed up for all these tournaments as early as the registration was up. I have only been to one. The reason I didn't fish this past weekend was because I only have "X" amount of days to fish with my work schedule. When I go to a lake and I'm not in the points race and I'm already qualified and the fishing isn't good, of course I'm going to go somewhere else. There are a lot of lakes that I want to fish in the winter and I need to use my time wisely to make the most of it. Not only that, but when anglers get on here and see people bashing them for a descision that they made it kinda makes them want to shorten up the field by one. _________________ Spencer Poel

i have to defend spencer a lil on this one . He paid for every event up front ...which we encourage . Not once has he asked for his money back on any one event . So he really has supported what we do , even if he wasnt present to fish . Thats not saying anything against the guys showing up on sunday , paying , and then fishing . Getting to the increase in the cost of the events. We cut one tourney back....so the increase in total for all the events was $20. What we tried to accomplish in doing this was to boost the purse per event a lil to make it worth while coming out . All this being said , we havent made any decisions yet about next season . We have a championship to fish and crown a new trueice champion...on an awesome lake See everyone there . _________________ Terry Dvoracek

I agree, big thanks to the board. I have been involved in dirt track racing for many years and it's the same ol' story. You just can't please everyone. I do want to let the board know that I am truely impressed with how they run this series. It's the only one of it's kind in the area and I would sure hate to see it go. I have already talked my dad into getting a rig for next year and there are a few guys at work that are interested in getting into it to better themselves as anglers. See you guys on Pickerel. _________________ Spencer Poel

So true. We all have to make decisions on where best to spend our time and money. I've been fortunate to able to attend all of the events thus far and have really enjoyed myself. I watched from the sidelines last season, and am so glad I decided to participate this year. Met some great guys and competitors and have jumped light years ahead in my ice fishing knowledge than where it was just a year ago. I have been spreading the word of this series to all that will listen and hope that they too will be interested in competing on the ice. I think those involved in its creation and those that have participated in the past have done the hard work of getting it going. Would love to see if continue and will do my part to help.
Hope to see all in Pickerel real soon..hoping that i can use my quad, but, may have to borrow that jet-fueled drag sled i used on Buffalo |
