About Us

True Ice Tournament Fishing Series was begun in the Fall of 2006 by Jay Butler, Butch Butler, Terry Dvoracek, Todd Waagemeester, and Blaine Fopma. We are all competitive ice fisherman that enjoy blood- pumping competition on the hard water.

Over the years we have all competed in local and regional fishing tournaments. It seemed to us those fishing tournaments were always held further away from where we live, and traveling expenses were just getting higher and higher. It became harder to coordinate those expenses with time off work, and maintaining healthy family life. We found ourselves traveling hundreds of miles to fish lakes that didn't hold a candle to the lakes we fished back home. It became our goal to create a tournament series at the local level that all individuals could participate in on some of the finest lakes in the midwest.

As board members we have all put a tremendous amount of time and money into creating and maintaining this tournament series. We hope that everyone who chooses to participate in it will respect our efforts, and stay positive even when things aren't perfect. True Ice is for all of you, and we couldn't possibly be more thrilled to host these tournaments, and look forward to meeting all of you on the ice.
